The female hummingbird doesn't get as much attention as the flashier ruby throated male so I wanted to showcase her with some soft white flowers. The background is done on a wet surface and a small practice piece may help to see how far the color will move. Of course, a mask could be used on the flowers however I enjoy the softer edges created without masking.
This is a beginner/intermediate level project done on a 5"x11" white Multimedia Board or watercolor paper using Derwent Watercolor Pencils.
The tutorial includes product information, instructions, line pattern, color worksheet and photo.
