Mr. Berry Buttons

Snow on a black surface is always fun however when doing more than snowflakes getting the translucent white watercolor to become opaque can be tedious. Undercoating can accelerate the process however a heavy application of acrylic gesso can be a problem so be sure to do the undercoat with a thin even smooth application. The little trick of sanding on the snow is fun and I have used this with other colors in paintings to add interesting texture.

This is an intermediate level project created on 8"x10" black Multimedia ArtBoard or another black surface using Derwent Watercolor Pencils.

The tutorial includes product use information, instructions, line pattern, color worksheet and photo.
